Meet your teacher
Lauren Thomas
Lauren currently lives and grows food on the land in which she grew up on as a child — in Seba Beach, Alberta. Here, she works as a full time farmer during the Alberta growing season and then teaches yoga, creates art, and offers Thai bodywork in the off seasons. She teaches from the perspective of living, working, and engaging with the land on a daily basis and wishes to share the joy of relationship with the land with her community.
At 19, Lauren had the privilege of traveling to India to learn Yoga— and does her best to honour the place in which yoga comes from when teaching Yoga classes. In Sanskrit yoga translates “to yoke” —and she enjoys combining this beautiful philosophy of integrating teaching from many paths.
Her own interest in spirituality, community, and bodywork led her to participate in course work offered by Joni Margeurite Martin, Krista Daneluz Viera, and Francie Petit. All of whom are teachers Lauren is honoured to celebrate and is immensely grateful towards.
Lastly, Lauren’s love for nature and art continue to be some of her biggest teachers and she speaks confidently from of a place rooted in a sense of belonging within nature and working regularly with her creativity.
